John Young is former Associate Director of the Journalism and Media Studies Centre and currently teaches media and politics, media law and media globalization. Before coming to HKU, he was Deputy Director of California's Office of Trade and Investment for China and Hong Kong. He studied law at Peking University and holds a Juris Doctor degree from Stanford Law School, and a BA in Political Science and East Asian Studies from the University of California at Berkeley.
