American studies majors and minors are encouraged to spend time studying overseas, whether through an international internship, a summer program, or a semester or academic year study abroad experience. HKU maintains a partnership with many of the world’s top universities. Plan your study abroad early by consulting with the International Affairs Office.

International Field Trip: In addition to study abroad opportunities, American studies majors are required to participate in the international field trip course AMER2021.

Internships: American studies majors and minors also receive credit for both local and international internships through the course AMER3008.
